Have you ever lain in bed at night and worried about, oh, everything? If you are anything like me, Nina Lorez Collins, and most of the women involved in the Woolfer community, the answer is a resounding yes! Instead of suffering silently, Nina created a safe, private Facebook community where she could connect with girlfriends and they could unabashedly talk about their feelings on aging, stress, relationships, and everything they were struggling, but were unable to find the level of support or answers that they desired.
Before long, her small private group had turned into a large, active and powerful group of women from all over the world who were candidly sharing their stories and experiences on a wide variety of very private topics. Inspired, Nina wrote her first book, What Would Virginia Woolf Do? And Other Questions I Ask Myself As I Attempt to Age Without Apology, which is part memoir/part resource and funny take on aging for women in the second half of their lives. Which was great, but it most certainly was not enough.
Join me as I interview Nina Lorez Collins, who personifies the beauty, brains and beliefs that FLAUNT! celebrates, about her journey, The Woolfer community, and her take on the five steps of FLAUNT!
Nina is a graduate of Barnard College, has a Master’s degree from Columbia in the field of Narrative Medicine, and has a long professional background in book publishing, both as a literary scout and then as an agent. She has four nearly grown children and lives in Brooklyn.

Have you ever wished that your life were somehow different? Perhaps you felt that you were working hard, but hadn’t really found your purpose, your reason for being? David Karchere felt that way too, but by delving into emotional and spiritual intelligence, he was able to figure out and explain how we experience life’s journey, why we sometimes feel devoid of purpose, and how we can burst through our own, blocked emotional doorways and find the happy, fulfilling life we crave.
The key is living like the sun! Just like the sun, we have life-giving properties that we can shine on others in order to make ourselves happier, healthier and more connected to our purpose. As a spiritual teacher and motivational speaker, David teaches others how to unleash the creative power within to become as brilliant as the sun. His new book, Becoming a Sun: Emotional & Spiritual Intelligence for a Happy, Fulfilling Life, is written in poetry and prose, and is filled with experiences and exercises to help us cultivate and experience the personal wellbeing and empowerment we desire.

For millions of people worldwide, a cancer diagnosis is a terrifying and life-changing event. But what if a diagnosis of cancer was a call to action, that allowed you inspiration and healing? What if it enabled us to mend family relationship and get a fresh perspective on life’s priorities? Better still, what if allowed you to finally sit down write about your experiences, express your feelings and cultivate courage and strength in the process?
Research conducted at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University indicates that expressive writing––dealing with ones deepest thoughts and emotions––may contribute to improved physical and emotional health. A study in The Oncologist medical journal found patients who participated in a single 20-minute writing session improved their outlook on cancer and physical quality of life.
David Tabatsky’s work focuses on ways we can take control of any diagnosis and break down the fear and isolation faced by humans experiencing any kind of health crisis. His book, Write for Life provides all people affected by cancer (patients, caregivers, family, friends, medical community, etc.) the opportunity to explore personal expression through writing, enabling them to use creativity and writing as a meaningful tool in the fight against cancer.

How well do you handle criticism from a loved one? If you are anything like most of us, the answer is, not very well! Typically, the closer we are to a person the more fragile we feel when they offer us feedback. Which means that over time couples can feel like they are walking on eggshells, unable to communicate or express themselves honestly. And when we can’t open up to deeper intimacy, love fades. Add in the raising of children and money issues and couples can easily find themselves caught between a rock and a hard place. Do they remain together, for convenience, for security, and to sake of the children, but live in a state of psychological divorce, or do they separate?
The biggest culprit in this dynamic is defensiveness. If couples could truly drop their defenses and actively listen and hear each other, perhaps they could come together again. But active listening is rarely used. Which is why Warren Farrell, PhD, developed Cinematic Immersion. Cinematic Immersion is a method that enables couples to actively listen to their partner without feeling defensive. As couples learn how to experience “criticism” as love, they simultaneously learn “the art and discipline of love” and how to deepen that love throughout the week.
Join us for today’s show, and learn what all is possible for you in all of your closest relationships when you can drop you defenses, truly hear what your loved ones are saying, and learn how to communicated your feelings as well.

A woman’s health is important. Not only for her, but for her unborn children as well. While proper medical care is undeniably important, there are many simple steps and practices that women can take on their own, both before and after conception. Dr. Madhura Uday Kulkarni is a gynecologist and Ayurveda practitioner from India and her mission is to help women have healthier bodies, healthier babies and live their best and healthiest life.
The foundation of Ayurveda is knowing one’s constitution. From there, women can implement the Five Lifestyle Basics to good health, regular and consistent detoxing and exercise. Dr. Kulkarni helps women all over the world get in touch with themselves and take control of their health and the health and happiness of their children. Most important to her is making sure that women understand the how and why behind the need to detoxify their bodies, minds and spirits. To do this, she offers simple tips to immediately impact how we feel. One such tip is drinking a half a cup of warm water in the morning to help the body reset and digest any undigested foods left in the belly overnight.
She is passionate about improving women’s health and well-being through Ayurveda and Yoga, and has participated in numerous public outreach campaigns to help women to understand the many simple steps they can take to improve their health and wellbeing.

Are you ready to get off the diet roller coaster, lose weight permanently, and feel great? So many of us spend years (or even decades) messing around with fad diets, beating up on ourselves and our bodies, and limiting the way we live because of our obsession with food. If you are ready to stop stressing, stop denying yourself, and start feeding your soul and your body with love, so you can live your life with joy, health and happiness, then this is the show for you!
Carly Pollack, author of Feed Your Soul and the founder of Nutritional Wisdom, knows what it’s like to tie your sense of worth to the way your body looks or to what size you wear. She understands the fact that most of us (even if we intellectually know better) are at least somewhat a victim of society’s unrealistic view of bodies, health and fitness.
She has an extensive background in health, nutrition and fitness, as well as years of practical experience helping hundreds of women get happy and healthy permanently. She believes that the most important component of weight loss is the mind! In fact, one of her sayings is, “Our plate is a reflection of our inner state.”

Craig Kolavo, business man, seeker, motivator and author of I am God In disguise, So are You believes that there are three simple steps that all humans – all souls are here to do: Discover – Surrender – Inspire.
Discover: First, we must discover who we truly are. During our time on Earth, as humans, we forget that we are divine. We forget that we are truly God in disguise and that we are our divine nature, not our human body or even our human experience.
Surrender: Once we awaken that sleeping giant within, we are faced with the question of surrendering or fighting against that divine nature. Which begs the question, what’s in it for me? Which is totally normal to ask! After all, we are still human!
I Am God in Disguise is a call to action to rediscover our spiritual nature, and be intentional about our collective purpose as human beings. Are you ready to head the call?
